Donald Trump has assembled a “dream team” of a Cabinet that will help him hit the ground running after he takes the oath of office on Jan. 20, according to the president-elect’s top spokesman.
Sean Spicer, whom Trump has named White House press secretary, told Breitbart News that the Cabinet will feature department secretaries of high “quality and caliber.” The spokesman called the group the “most talented Cabinet in modern history,” and suggested that Senate Democrats will have difficulty finding reasons to vote against the nominees.
“I think not only are we ahead of schedule, which is historically important, but I think number two if you look at the quality of these individuals, the Democrats are basically trying to figure out how they can oppose these folks and they’re coming up empty,” Spicer said. “When you look at them, they might not agree with them, but they have to admit these are some very successful people in their various fields.”
Spicer pointed out that the “dream team” includes Trump’s picks for attorney general (Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama), Homeland Security secretary (Gen. John Kelly), defense secretary (Gen. James Mattis), and Housing and Urban Development secretary (Dr. Ben Carson).
The president-elect also has nominated ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson for secretary of state, Republican Rep. Mike Pompeo of Kansas for CIA director, Elaine Chao for transportation secretary, Wilbur Ross for commerce secretary and Andy Puzder for labor secretary.
